The Co-op at Farm Day at the Fairgrounds

Co-op volunteers Alice Cantelow and Lester Lubetkin hosted an activity at Farm Day on Tuesday, May 13.  This county-wide event for third-graders is part of the county’s “Ag  In the Classroom” program. The Co-op’s booth and activity was on local water  issues and the competition for water between residents, farms, businesses, and the environment.  Alice and Lester worked with over 200 students, plus about 35 teachers and parent-helpers.  The kids really got engaged in the activities!

Thank you, Lester and Alice!

What's New at the Store

by Melisa Clark, Store Manager

Summer is here with so much to do,

so many places to go and so much good food to eat! The Co-op will be out and about this month as well so you can enjoy our wholesome, healthy food at many local events including The Fit and Fun Fair at High Hill Ranch on June 22nd and the Universal Health Fair at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds on June 28th. We are looking for volunteers to work at these events  to provide information about the Co-op to event attendees. Contact Twyla, our volunteer coordinator, if you want to help. Don't forget that you earn a full month of discounts for every four hours of volunteer work you do for the Co-op.

From the Board
By Ruthie Loeffelbein

Our Co-op is growing stronger day by day, thanks to your shopping.
It is not yet profitable, however, and needs Owner help (that's you) to provide additional working capital.

Earlier this year, you received a request to help by making a personal loan to the Co-op. Do you still have that letter and Owner Loan Campaign? If you do, please look at it again. If you don't - or you joined more recently - please let me know, and I will be glad to send you a copy in the mail. (642-2972, ruthie@placervillecoop.org)

Owner Services
by Julie Silvey
Do you need to update your address or other contact information with  Owner Services, ask a question, make a suggestion or express your appreciation for the store or
one of the employees?  Check out the "Customer/Staff Communication Board" just inside and to the right of the front door of the store (right next to the elevator).

We will be sending out statements again to our owners who are active in the store (have shopped there within the last year) but are a little behind on their payments.  We are working hard to get everyone current.  If you are in this situation and do receive a statement, please respond to Owner Services to discuss your account.  We are very flexible and more than willing to restructure your payment schedule in any way that would help you.

If you are current on your owner payments and would like to receive an e-mail notice a couple of weeks before your next payment is due, please send an e-mail request to julie@placervillecoop.org

When you make the final payment on your account you will receive a $10.00 PNFC gift card as a small token of our appreciation!
