What's New at the Store - From Melisa, Our General Manager

Summer is here along with warm weather, local produce and longer store hours! So come to the Co-op to pick up some lunch, fresh fruit and sunscreen as you head off to your favorite outdoor activity or stop by for dinner fixings on the way home. We are open 8-8 M-F, 9-8 Sat, 10-5 Sun. Looking ahead we plan to extend store hours operating from 8-8 every day.

Can't find what you are looking for? Look for new aisle signs placed throughout the store to help you locate the products you need. Still can't find it? Ask one of our friendly staff members who are now wearing black aprons and PNFC name tags. If we don't carry it ask a cashier to add it to the customer request list. We order from the list every Friday. Remember it's your store and our goal is to meet all of your shopping needs whenever possible.

Shopping on a budget? Our end cap displays offer great savings on your favorite products so stock up on featured items. Check out Facebook for Wednesday sales and special promotion throughout the week. We are introducing our LIC Program beginning June 1, 2013 for anyone who is eligible for SNAP, WIC or GA benefits. Sign up at the register. Senior Sundays start in June too! All senior customers (62 or over) save 10% on all regularly priced merchandise every Sunday.

The Co-op staff want to say "Thank You!" for shopping at the Co-op! The Co-op! We Own It!

FINANCES – UPDATE FROM YOUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The financial report at the Board’s regular meeting, on May 27, included news of a welcome trend.  Your Co-op is moving strongly toward being a profit-making business!

We all know that new businesses very often do not make a profit the first few years.  New co-ops are no exception. But to survive, a co-op must move toward, and into, profitability as soon as possible.  Average sales at PNFC, over the month of April, were at the break-even point!  And there is no reason to think that hasn’t just happened in May, also.

What's Up at the High5Kitchen
Roasted vegetables–red beets, turnips, carrots, red potatoes, sweet potatoes with quartered onions, whole garlic cloves and roasted chickpeas/garbanzo beans on a bed of mixed greens with balsamic vinaigrette--another quick, easy, fresh meal from the High5Kitchen. With garbanzo beans one of June's High5Picks at 15% off for all members, have fun in the kitchen and roast chickpeas, make hummus or if you have the time, prepare a cassoulet.
