It’s not too early to consider how you can be of help to the Co-op. We are looking for a few good Owner-Member candidates to stand for election to our Board of Directors. Candidates should have an active interest in community organization governance, demonstrated by attendance at Co-op Board meetings, trainings, and participation in volunteer activities in support of the Co-op. The Board meets regularly on the last Monday of every month at 6:00 PM in the upstairs meeting room at the store. Our bylaws call for the Co-op to be governed by a seven person board of directors, however we currently have only six persons sitting on the board due to two resignations in the past year.
The Co-op uses a “policy governance” system, in which the Board of Directors adopted and maintains a policy document that establishes the rules under which a General Manager, selected and hired by the board, conducts the daily business affairs of the Co-op.
