Quality Payments: Your guide to total success (webinar)

We’re running a webinar on Wednesday 6th June to help you secure a full suite of Quality Payments this June. Pharmacies that meet all the criteria will receive between £3,200 and £6,400 each, so make sure you don’t miss out.
This webinar will guide you through the 2018 requirements, including what’s changed since last year, top tips, and the areas that caused most validation problems in 2017 (e.g. NHS Choices). It will be essential viewing for all pharmacy contractors and runs from 7.30pm-8.30pm on Wednesday 6th June. Register now.
The webinar will be a joint presentation by Greater Manchester LPC, Bolton LPC and Community Pharmacy Lancashire.

Quality Payments: GMLPC website & tip guides

We have now updated our website with guidance to help you achieve this June’s Quality Payments, along with downloadable PDF tip guides. You can access them all through the Quality Payments section of our website, with separate pages for each element. To get you started, here’s an overview of the key changes and a guide to the four gateway criteria: NHS Choices, NHSmail, EPS and advanced services. Read our guides alongside the full NHS England guidance.

Quality Payments: HLP Health Champions training

Following the success of our previous Health Champions training events, we’ve arranged a further session to help Greater Manchester pharmacies achieve HLP Level 1 status and the associated 20 points of Quality Payments by the next review date on 29th June. The course is a fully-recognised Level 2 RSPH qualification and lasts two days.
The training will take place on 4th & 5th June at Friends Meeting House, Mount Street, Manchester. You must attend both days to achieve the Health Champion qualification. We expect this to be very popular and places are limited so book now. View full details on this flyer.

Quality Payments: PharmOutcomes & PSNC guide

All pharmacies can access PharmOutcomes modules to help you work towards and demonstrate achievement of Quality Payments, thanks to PSNC. There is also a module for asthma referrals.
PSNC have also produced a handy guide to the evidence required for each area of Quality Payments.

GDPR: Communications from GMLPC

We have been reviewing our mailing lists ahead of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements. As the statutory organisation representing community pharmacy contractors in our area, we have a lawful basis for communicating with them. Our newsletter also goes out to people who have signed up to receive it and have therefore given consent for us to communicate in this way.
In addition to this, we are reviewing our newsletter list to ensure that there is nobody on it who has not given consent and, if so, to ask them if they would like to continue hearing from us. If you do not want to receive our newsletter, you can unsubscribe any time by clicking the link at the end of this email.

Hep A Outbreak in the Rough Sleeping Homeless Population

There is a public health concern associated with the Hepatitis A infection in this population. Please see this letter that outlines the local response and the relevant vaccination approach that is being taken as a matter of urgency amongst the rough sleeping homeless population.
There is also a ‘Rough Sleepers’ pocket map, which contains suitable locations with washing and showering facilities, to help support the hygiene requirements to reduce infection.  Please print off and hand to any clients/patients you may feel would benefit from these facilities.

GDPR: 2 weeks to go

PSNC is producing articles to help you work towards the new EU-wide General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that comes into effect on 25th May. You can read them here:
PSNC’s webinar on GDPR is now available to watch on demand. It’s an excellent overview of what pharmacy contractors need to do to prepare, and how to use the PSNC GDPR workbook to document your compliance. It also explains more about the legal justifications for data use.
If you’ve not already downloaded the PSNC workbook and accompanying guidance you can do so here. The workbook includes templates, many of which are pre-populated e.g. templates explaining your legal justification for different types of data use.
