Photocall: Request for pictures of your Pharmacy's AMR displays

We want pics of your pharmacy’s AMR display

Public Health England want to flag up the fantastic efforts that community pharmacies in Greater Manchester put into supporting the public awareness campaign about antimicrobial resistance (AMR). They’re compiling an update report and want to make sure community pharmacy features prominently by including photos of AMR displays and any other relevant information – e.g. social media activity you’ve done.

The campaign finishes soon so don’t delay! Send photos of your AMR displays and anything else you’ve done to raise public awareness of the campaign to

If you copy them to, we’ll feature some in GMLPC communications as well!

Quality Payments: Less than a month to go

Quality Payments tip guide: NHS 111 DoS
Watch our recorded webinar

This week's GM LPC Quality Payments tip guide focuses on the NHS 111 Directory of Services (DoS) - how to check your entry and how to confirm whether it's correct or needs corrections. It is available here. You can now check your NHS 111 Directory of Services entry using this checker.

If you missed our Quality Payments webinar on 27th March, don't worry! You can access a recording by clicking here and registering your details. Presenters Fin Mc Caul and Sarah Wood from GMLPC had some great tips on making Quality Payments as easy as possible for your pharmacy by making them part of everyday practice.

Quality Payments: Less than a month to go

Webinars this week on how to claim your Quality Payments

NHS Prescription Services is holding webinars tomorrow and Friday (6th & 7th April) to help contractors complete the Quality Payments online declaration form on the NHS BSA website. This is how you claim your Quality Payments. Find out more and register for the webinars here

Changes to submission of additional pharmacy payments

Community pharmacy contractors are encouraged to read Primary Care Support England (PCSE)'s latest stakeholder bulletin which sets out a new process for submitting additional pharmacy payments. As part of the process, all of these claims should be submitted directly to the pharmacy's local NHS England team. Find out more at:

Annual Complaints Report 2016/17

Don't forget that contractors need to prepare your annual NHS complaints report for 2016/17. The annual complaints report covers a number of aspects and must be available to any person on request. Information and guidance on how to compile the report can be found in this section of the PSNC website.

A copy of the completed report should be sent to the pharmacy’s local NHS England team as soon as practicable after 31st March 2017. Even if a pharmacy has not received any complaints, the contractor must prepare a complaints report confirming that they have received no complaints as part of their terms of service. Read more.

Manchester: New commissioning arrangements

Manchester now has a new, single commissioner for health and social care. Manchester Health & Care Commissioning (MHCC) was created on 1 April 2017 and brings together the three former Manchester CCGs and Manchester City Council. It will commission health (including public health) and social care services. For more information, visit their website.

Manchester: Guidance on preferred medicine brands

Manchester commissioners have published this summary of their preferred medicine brands.

Technicians' chance to shine in APTUK awards!

Pharmacy Access Scheme update

PSNC wishes to inform community pharmacy contractors that it has identified issues with payments being made under the Pharmacy Access Scheme (PhAS) and is working with the Department of Health and NHS England to find solutions.

Since the introduction of PhAS, PSNC has been working to make sure that the scheme will operate in accordance with the Drug Tariff. However, from PSNC's own investigations, as well as reports from contractors, problems with how the scheme has been implemented have been discovered. Find out more at:

REMINDER - Don't Miss Out !
North Manchester: Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD) Project
North Manchester Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Greater Manchester Local Pharmaceutical Committee (GM LPC) are working in collaboration to deliver an Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD) Project across North Manchester.

Two training events for community pharmacies have taken place already in February 2017 and we are putting on a final training event for
Tuesday 18th April for those pharmacies that didn't and couldn't attend the previous events.
The project will be rolled out in the next few weeks and we highly recommend those pharmacies who couldn't make the previous  events to make every effort to attend. We will be visiting all the GP practices in North Manchester over the next few months and need your support in identifying suitable, eligible patients to be switched to eRD. We believe this will be beneficial for everyone including the patients and will allow you better control of your repeat prescriptions; more opportunity to engage with your patients; and showcase your value in the management of repeat prescriptions.

Please click here to book your place.
