Survey of pharmacy professionals 2019

Please remember to respond to the GPhC survey of pharmacy professionals 2019.

The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete and your answers will be anonymised. It will really help the regulator understand more about the workforce and help to improve the way it regulates.

You get to answer questions on your roles, responsibilities, work settings, future work plans and levels of job satisfaction and work-life balance. This is an opportunity to contribute to important research that will be used by the regulator, and those involved in workforce planning.

Salford and Trafford

We have been made aware by Achieve that there is currently a shortage of methadone tablets. It has been decided to convert all clients to methadone mixture standard or sugar free . If medical confirmation is provided that a client cannot tolerate methadone mixture a consideration will be given to prescribe methadone capsules. There will be no plan to switch clients back to methadone tablets once the shortage is resolved.

Please be reminded  to contact the service if 3 or more days dispense is missed in a row.

Should you have any queries regarding the above please contact  Ann McKernan at Achieve Tel:01204 483090  Email: Ann.McKernan@gmmh.nhs.uk

Trafford: Old Trafford Medical Practice

This week, the CCG have agreed with Firsway Health Centre in Sale to provide caretaking arrangements at Old Trafford Medical Practice from Monday 12 August 2019. Firsway was selected as the practice was able to demonstrate a level of resilience.

Dr Masud Prodhan, who runs the practice, has been placed under suspension by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a routine inspection which took place on Tuesday 22 July. This means he is unable to undertake any clinical activity at Old Trafford Medical Practice for a period of three months (up to 31 October 2019) subject to right of appeal.

The CQC has also inspected Gloucester House Medical Centre on Wednesday (7 August). As you may be aware, Dr Prodhan is a partner in this practice. We are awaiting feedback from CQC with regards to the outcomes of the inspection.
