After THE TURNING...
Dear friends
After the completion of THE TURNING Mission our speaker for 27th June 2019 will be Dr Ian Kirby PhD of Moorlands College.
THE TURNING - which saw a dozen churches working together with Moorlands College, Baptist Union Vice President: Yinka Oyekan (pictured left), and members of the turning missions team based at The Gate Church Reading, where Yinka is Pastor - was all about inspiring churches to work together in unity on a week of overt evangelism on the streets of our conurbation.
The mission culminated with churches working in two hubs in Christchurch and Bournemouth. However, lives were touched throughout Christchurch and across the many towns and villages that make up the conurbation of Bournemouth.

Officially 159 people responded going through the prayer of salvation, with one person added to that number during the final celebration at Christchurch. Many, many, more people received prayers for healing, or requested special personal prayers for themselves or members of their family network, or simply received a prayer of blessing over their lives with a request that God would speak to them and reveal Himself to them.
Dr Ian Kirby
Therefore as the personal discipleship of those who responded begins, Ian Kirby, who is passionate about discipleship, comes to speak at Wessex Filling Station about how one might disciple new Christians, and seekers, to grow into mature Christians who love the Lord and want to serve him throughout their lives, rather than them becoming pew fillers.
Dr. Kirby has been at the college since 2005 lecturing in Cross Cultural studies but is no stranger to discipling others. Before Moorlands both he, and his wife Faye, spent ten years in one of the former Soviet republics in Central Asia living out their faith, sharing the Christian gospel, planting churches and training new leaders to work within them. His experiences have given him a unique insight into both the teaching of, and practical outworking of personal discipleship. His soft Scottish tones make his stories and teachings immensely listenable.
At Wessex Filling Station Ian will reflect on the mission and all that has gone on over the last few weeks, and help us to look to the future of our local churches across the BCP area as we meet with, and disciple, those who responded during THE TURNING mission.
Worship will be led by Brian Edgeley and the Filling Station worship team, and this event presents us with another great opportunity to come together in unity.
We look forward to welcoming you there this coming Thursday evening.
