Mission Heartedness ~ Life on the Streets.
With this seasons focus on mission, both at home and abroad, April '18 sees us looking outward for TWO smashing meetings with keynote speaker Richard Sanderson.
Richard is Director of New Hope for Children (UK) and the US equivalent charity Children's Vision International Inc. He spends his time working to bring a hope and a future to poor street children in the city of Bogotá, Colombia in South America. In fact, Richard, an ex British Gas employee from Sheffield, has spent the last 16 years working as a missionary. Together with his wife Jeanene, they help provide hunger relief, humanitarian aid and 24-hour medical care, 365 days a year! Together, they network with other healthcare providers to help provide medical attention, vaccines, dental care, optometry (eyes), nutrition etc. They also carry out Medical Missions with the Colombian Navy and Air Force. Throughout all this they ooze Jesus and share His love through natural evangelism.
Passionate about Mission
Richard is definitely a passionate individual and this will come across when you hear him speak about his 'children'. His stories of mission success are ear-candy and uplifting to the soul. His charismatic speaking style engages each listener, and his passion for personal evangelism and growing faith in others, is an inspiration to everyone.
As part of the Dorset leg of his 2018 nationwide tour, he will share his experiences and passion for God - and his compassion for the poor street children of Bogotá. Part of his mission is to feed them, give them a home and an education, and to help them to find work when graduated. Many also find something to believe in through his transparent witness and lifestyle and go on to work with him on missions to help others across Colombia.
He will be speaking at The Village Hotel Bournemouth as part of Wessex Filling Station's annual program and then will speak the following evening at Twynham Church Christchurch at a United Youth Event
Inspiring Youth - Always part of the Vision!
The two men behind pulling the Wessex Filling Station community group together originally - Andy Selby and Brian Edgeley, always had a vision of arranging youth meetings alongside the unity work of 'Wessex' but this has been the first real opportunity to pull one together. Speaking with three local youth pastors the United Youth Event came about quite quickly as everyone had the same desire! And that was to see young people from across the area coming together to worship and being inspired in their daily walk with God. A united event also offers great networking opportunities for the young people and the youth pastors too! It is planned to hold more meetings in the future with a September date earmarked? More details to come.
