Farewell to Bonnie

For over nine years, Bonnie Nicholas has guided the ministry of Safe Church Ministry, first as the interim director, and then as the full-time director. Bonnie has walked alongside so many people involved in situations of abuse: empowering survivors, assisting leaders from countless congregations and classes, supporting Advisory Panel Processes, and leading as a voice for change for the system of the Christian Reformed Church. Bonnie has experienced many challenges as some situations of abuse lacked the justice and compassion for those impacted by harm, yet she was also able to experience powerful pictures of the kingdom of Jesus as many were able to experience restoration, care, empathy, just responses, and systemic change with her ministry as director of Safe Church.

We pray for many blessings for Bonnie as the Lord goes before her into retirement and gives her new dreams and visions in her next chapter!

The last webinar in our year-long series will take place on December 2 at 12pm Eastern. This webinar will feature two courageous people who will raise their voices to share with us from their own experience of abuse, what it was like for them and how the church responded in ways that were helpful, and perhaps sometimes in ways that were unhelpful. We invite you to join us in this important conversation. We thoroughly enjoyed our last two webinars with Dr. Diane Langberg and Rev. Jay Stringer, if you missed them, no worries, check out all of the recordings from 2020 here!
