Coffee Break Bible Discovery Ministry News                                            Christmas 2015

Dear Coffee Break Friend,

If you are a long time Coffee Break fan or new to Bible Discovery, I am asking you to join us in making quality, Reformed Bible study materials available to our far and near neighbors.

God has been using Coffee Break to transform lives for over 45 years. Story Hour and Coffee Break began with a vision of introducing people to Jesus through his Word in the safety of a small group environment. God has blessed that simple, prayed-for strategy! Today, Coffee Break groups are sprouting up all over the world, as well as continuing in North America. It is exciting!

A new thing is happening. The excellent materials, training and resources that we have made available to far away countries, in other languages, are being asked for right here in the US and Canada. Leaders in British Columbia and California ask for study materials in Chinese. Groups in Florida and Michigan want Spanish. We have had requests for Creole, Nepalese and Swahili in North America. The global mission is also a local mission.

In order to address the need, we have committed to making have high-quality Discover Your Bible translations easily accessible to local and global leaders. Therefore, we are beginning to do our own translations. We will translate the Discover Your Bible materials into Spanish, Chinese and other languages, as God leads. We will also continue to create new materials. The exciting result will be that we can provide english and other-language materials across the world but also right here in our own neighborhoods.

How can you help?

  1. Give a Discover Your Bible Translation Gift:
    $50.00 ____    $200.00 ____    $400.00 ____    other ____
  2. Take an offering for Coffee Break.
  3. Ask how to become a Sister Coffee Break for a new Global Coffee Break group. Email info@coffeebreakministries.org.

Coffee Break in Swahili

These church planters in Ukunda, Mombasa, completed Coffee Break training on November 11, 2015. The graduates received Discover the Fruit of the Spirit study guides and certificates. Others will graduate in December. About 65 have completed the program. They are praying for Coffee Break materials in Swahili.

Coffee and Kindness

Anna*, who did not attend church, reluctantly showed up to a Coffee Break meeting at First CRC this past year after having been invited by a neighbor. At first she was uncomfortable, but she continued to come every week. She read stories like that of David and Goliath for the first time. It wasn’t long before Anna felt as though she belonged and felt comfortable sharing with the group; as the year drew to a close, she found that she didn’t want it to end... Continue reading »
