#thisiscrcworship: We need your photos and videos! Over the next few months, we are working on several short videos highlighting the many ways CRC churches worship. We would love to have all churches represented either with a photo or a short (several seconds long) video. Do you have images of your congregation worshiping, praying or participating in sacraments? Email them to us (

Book Discussion: Our staff is spending the next few months reading and discussing “The Inconvenient Indian: A Curious Account of Native People in North America” by Thomas King. We encourage you to get a book and join us in reading, learning and growing in our awareness of indigenous history and culture. Regardless of if you are in the United States or Canada, this is an opportunity to know more about our sisters and brothers of indigenous background and better understand their history and culture. If you’re interested in participating in a group conversation, email us at You can also create your own group and follow along with this book study, including videos, from the CRC’s Canadian Indigenous Ministry.

Prayer Requests: As we worship together, we are united with God and with one another. Over the next year, we’ll include a few short prayer requests. Email us if there’s something you would like included or would like us to pray for specifically in our Monday staff meetings. Please join your heart and your voices as we pray for these things together.

  • Let’s pray for each other this month! As a busy church season approaches, say a prayer for your fellow worship leaders. You know how to best pray for these partners in the gospel so take some time this month to pray for strength, for creativity, and energy for your colleagues.
  • Last month we hosted, Rev. George DeVuyst in a conversation about reconciliation. Rev. DeVuyst and his family serve as Resonate Global Mission missionaries in the country of Ukraine. Let’s continue to pray for them, for Ukraine and for all who suffer.
Who are you?: When we look at our enewsletter subscribers list we are so grateful for a growing number of worship leaders, pastors, and congregation members. It would be helpful for us to know who you are so we can better serve you with content that is useful and helpful. Take a few minutes to fill out this short form and tell us who you are! There’s also a comment section if there’s anything you want us to know. Thanks for subscribing!

As always know that you remain in our prayers. If there is something specific we can pray for or if there is another way we can support you please email

What’s happening in Worship Ministries

Endorsed Coaches

At the start of the year, Worship Ministries sent out a brochure to every CRCNA congregation with information about our Endorsed Coaches. Is your congregation looking for some training or help with something worship-related this year? If so, consider contacting one of our coaches. Worship Ministries covers the cost of the first consultation. We are also expanding our group so be on the lookout for more coaches with more expertise soon. Interested in applying to be a coach?  Email us to begin the process.

Symposium Roundtable Conversations

Recordings Posted: Thank you to all those who participated in the follow up conversations from the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship’s symposium. There were so many wonderful discussions and we hope you take advantage of the wisdom and the practical ideas offered in these sessions. The recordings can be found on our YouTube page.

Classis Regional Gatherings

Won’t you be my neighbor? Worship Ministries is hosting virtual gatherings by regional classis throughout the year. These will be opportunities to meet other worship leaders in your geographic area and hopefully build connections for future collaboration and interaction. Look for more information and get excited about an evening hour of fun(!) and friends.

Sermon and Service Packages

Worship Ministries was grateful that the January 2 sermon and service package was able to be used by so many churches to give pastors and staff a week off after Christmas. We appreciated the feedback we got from you and look forward to 2 more of these packages coming this summer for use around the CRC’s annual gathering of Synod (June 11-17). Calvin CRC in Grand Rapids, MI and The Tapestry Church in Vancouver will both put together services that we hope are widely used by churches to not only offer a Sunday off, but also to be unified as a denomination in our hearing of the Word and worship. More info to come.
