As we worship, we are reminded of God’s mercy and assured of God’s power, presence and grace. Through songs, hymns and liturgy we remember that the Lord is God — it is He who made us, we are His. To worship is literally to bow down and submit one's self to the object of our worship. As we think about the Spirit being poured out on the Church at Pentecost, may we recall and follow that same Spirit forward in worship and surrender.

What’s happening in Worship Ministries

A Call to Prayer

In a year where there is much to cover with our prayers, we invite you to a denomination-wide virtual prayer service on June 1 at 5:00 PST/8:00EST. Worship Ministries and a denominational prayer team are collaborating on a worship service that will include prayers for our churches, our leaders and the CRCNA. This will include a time of prayer specifically for the Council of Delegates who begin their summer work in lieu of Synod on June 11. Director, Colin Watson, has called for this service to start 10 days of focused prayer for our denomination and our churches across the US and Canada — prayers for strength, renewal, wisdom and unity. This service will go live on Facebook as well as YouTube. It will also be made available at a later date for congregations that wish to use this as part of their own worship services on the following Sunday. Please consider participating in this service and lifting up your prayers for the Holy Spirit's presence in our churches, our denomination and our world.

Tuesday Roundtable Discussions

Join us on Tuesdays at 1:00 EST on Zoom for roundtable discussions about a variety of topics from worship planning, to COVID changes for churches, to technology, and much more. If you’ve got specific questions or ideas to share we welcome you for these weekly conversations. No RSVP necessary. Click here to join the zoom meeting! Contact Katie Roelofs with questions — kroelofs@crcna.org

Church Highlight

mosaicHouse is a multi-cultural community of house churches leading people to Jesus and serving our city. We began our first house church in 2008, in Edmonton, Alberta, by mimicking the disciple-making blueprint in Acts 2:42-47. In addition to our commitment to the house church movement, we aggressively go after multi-cultural diversity by celebrating racial differences and raising up leaders of various ethnic groups.

We are also actively involved in church planting multiplication. The River CRC planted mosaicHouse, which in turn planted The Avenue Church. And our goal is to plant a new church every five years, should the Holy Spirit enable us.

The Pandemic has been particularly challenging to our house church movement, which heavily relies on the relational aspect. Please pray that mosaicHouse Church does not pause now; but instead, she goes on a mission of Jesus Christ amid the restrictions. More people are searching for meaning, purpose & security than ever before.

Things of Note

Trinity Sunday (May 30) is the week where the denomination’s special offering is for CRC Worship Ministries! For printable information as well as a Call to Worship from Psalm 29, click on this link. As worship pastors and leaders in the denomination, we encourage you to find creative ways to let your congregation know how our ministry has supported you and your specific congregation as we worship each week and grow together in grace and in the knowledge of God. If your congregation is taking an additional offering for Worship Ministries we have also provided this image for projection. Thank you in advance for your support.
