Stop Congress from Cutting Refugee Resettlement Funding
Funding bills are being considered in Congress that would flat-line or drastically cut funding for refugee resettlement in the U.S. We have committed to welcoming more refugees in 2017 than in 2016, so it is critical that the increase in refugee resettlement be met with increased funding to ensure that local communities have the resources they need to help refugees integrate and thrive.
As Christians, we must stand alongside and support people who are most vulnerable: the widow, the orphan, and the refugee. However, churches and local communities cannot do their part in supporting resettled refugees if the government does not supply sufficient funding to resettle those refugees.
