Christian Reformed Church

February 24, 2011

Dear church administrator,

A year ago, we launched The Network as a way for church members to connect with each other about the nuts and bolts of ministry.

We’re excited that so many church members (perhaps some from your congregation) have signed up. We’d like even more folks to connect through The Network.

Imagine the impact of ministry volunteers and staff from your church comparing notes with their counterparts in churches across the CRC - sharing tips, asking questions, and encouraging one other!

Please forward this email to your congregation. Thanks for your help in spreading the word and connecting churches for ministry.

Rev. Michael Bruinooge
Director, The Network

Greetings from The Network!

What a difference a year makes. Last February many of us were rooting for our respective country during the 2010 Winter Olympics. Some are still recovering from the result of the gold medal hockey match but, as they say, that’s the way the puck bounces.

Something else happened a year ago. On Feb. 8 2010, The Network launched as a way for church members to connect with each other about the nuts and bolts of ministry.

Since then, The Network has become a ministry destination with:

  • Over 50 ministry roles and topics (e.g. deacons, worship, youth, nursery, A/V, outreach, missions, Sunday school, and more).
  • Over 800 blog posts and articles written by our Network bloggers.
  • Over 3,000 questions, answers, and comments from people like you in churches across our denomination.
  • Over 15,000 pageviews per week - already making it one of the CRC’s most popular websites.

The Network is built on the idea that often the best help comes from people who are like us, doing similar work, struggling with the same questions. As we support each other, we help strengthen Christ’s community for ministry in his world.

We’re constantly improving the site based on input from our user community. If you’ve visited before, check out the new look!

Here are 3 things you can do right now...

  1. Visit The Network - Of course!
  2. Join the Discussion - Don’t be shy. Ask a question or add a comment.
  3. Get the Weekly Email - A handy summary of what’s new each week.

This is an exciting initiative to link us in new ways for ministry. But it only works if we all get in, participate, and start connecting with each other. Please join the conversation today at:
