Machinery Alert: Tightening torque requirements for high-pressure fuel pipes on MAN Diesel & Turbo four-stroke L48/60CR and V48/60CR engines
Applicability: All owners, operators and personnel involved in maintaining vessels which have MAN Diesel & Turbo four-stroke L48/60CR or V48/60CR engines

MAN Diesel & Turbo has released Customer Information circular No.330 regarding an increased tightening torque requirement for their 4 stroke L48/60CR and V48/60CR engines.

The circular advises that the tightening torque of the high-pressure fuel pipes from the CR high pressure pump to the accumulator, as well as the high-pressure fuel injection pipes from the accumulator to the fuel injection valve, has been increased from 280 to 320Nm. The torque has been increased in order to prevent occasional leakages at the high-pressure fuel pipes.

All personnel involved in operating and maintaining these engines are advised to read the circular and follow its recommendations.
