Gratitude

By Elizabeth Venart

Moving, like all change, is rarely easy. With the many varied parts to coordinate and details to oversee, the task of relocating one’s home or business can prove daunting. Moving also provides an opportunity to step more fully into our heart’s vision and provides us with a chance to ask for and receive support – and abundant opportunities to be grateful. Having recently moved our home to Flourtown, I am filled with gratitude for all the amazing help received.

The community of practitioners at the center came together to pack everything into boxes, load cars with our artwork, clean the old building, and get the new one ready. Once in our new space, we helped one another arrange and rearrange our furniture, finding new homes for old favorites. The professional movers were kind and conscientious and entertaining. My husband hung shelves, replaced lighting, and did every handyperson task imaginable in preparation for the move. Friends reached out and showed up, cleaning windows, vacuuming, and hanging pictures. My family sent a gorgeous bouquet of flowers to bless our new space.

The outpouring of generosity in helping us transition into our new home was amazing.

It truly does take a village. Working together, we have created a harmonious, resilient place of healing. I am incredibly grateful for all the support received.

Thank you.

Mark your calendars for our Grand Opening Celebration

Friday, October 17th
6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

We are having the party to share our new space and to honor all of you, the community who has supported and strengthened us over the past six years. Please feel free to bring a guest and to spread the word.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new home!

You can find us at Flourtown Commons, 1811 Bethlehem Pike, Suite 212-213, Flourtown, PA 19031

The Real Way to Have More Money

by Delia Nessim

These days a lot of people are talking about not having enough money. The more we hear that the economy is bad, the more fear it evokes. Afraid, people may become reluctant to spend their money, and a collective consciousness of fear, lack, and even panic can result. Energy therapies teach that energy attracts physical evidence with a similar vibration. According to this view, people who worry about their lack of money may have more experiences to worry about. Then, they feel even more justified in worrying.

So, what’s the solution?

A solution is to change your mind. Change your thoughts. Change your consciousness. That may seem difficult, because it involves changing your current behavior patterns, but it’s not as hard as you think. The first step in changing any behavior is to pay attention.

Gratitude Corner

Gratitude for the comedic genius of Robin Williams (1951-2014)

Like so many around the world, we were deeply saddened and moved to learn of Robin Williams’ untimely death. He graced us with so many brilliant, heartfelt performances, from the teacher in Dead Poet’s Society to the therapist in Good Will Hunting to the father in Mrs. Doubtfire. He was a brilliant actor who breathed humanity and authenticity into the roles he played, and we are grateful for his generosity in giving so much, especially given his lifelong struggle with depression.

Here are a few fun facts from his career:
  • When he auditioned for the role of Mork from Ork on "Happy Days", producer Garry Marshall told him to sit down. Williams immediately sat on his head on the chair. Marshall hired him, saying that he was the only alien who auditioned.
  • The producers of "Mork & Mindy" started leaving gaps in the scripts to allow Mork to “go off here” because they gave up trying to stop him from improvising and because he did it so well.
  • Most of his dialogue in "Aladdin" was ad-libbed (so much so that it was turned down for Best Adapted Screenplay Academy Award nomination).
  • Robin Williams truly lived his life “out loud,” plunging headfirst and fearlessly into the depths of human emotion and embracing the present through his own personal brand of zany, spontaneous, in-the-moment antics. A gifted comic and actor and a devoted humanitarian, Robin Williams inspired us and will truly be missed.
