The Resiliency Center: Your Place for Healing, Education & Community in Ambler, PA
Practitioner Highlight: Elizabeth Venart
Creating a More Joy-Filled Life!
Licensed Professional Counselor and Resiliency Center Director Elizabeth Venart loves partnering with people to help them create more joy in their lives. She does this in varied and creative ways, offering individual support, group work, educational workshops, and opportunities for community and connection.

Before we can experience more joy, we often need to grieve some sadness we’ve held inside and devote ourselves to healing any wounds that need our attention. When we bring compassion to our hurt in this way, we create space for greater love and joy to manifest in our present-day lives. Elizabeth is a Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapist who helps people transform traumatic experiences and heal – on a profound and physiological level – the pain of the past. Using EMDR, she helps people access inner resources and move past any blocks standing between the lives they wish to create for themselves and the ones they are currently living. She believes in offering people concrete tools along the healing journey and works effectively with individuals and couples to learn effective communication skills, cognitive therapy tools, and mindfulness practices. She facilitates a Personal Empowerment Group where those striving to create change can have a community of support along the way.

Additionally, Elizabeth specializes in working with other helping professionals – as a counselor, clinical consultant, educator, and practice-building mentor.

This Fall, she is offering an interactive group for helping professionals on building their ideal private practice. The group uses Lynn Grodzki’s fabulous workbook, 12 months to your ideal private practice, as a foundation. It also draws upon the wisdom of leaders in business, healthcare, and holistic sciences to provide information and reflective experiences custom-tailored to address the specific struggles and strengths of service professionals. Stay tuned to her website at for up-to-date information. For more information or to make a referral or schedule an initial consultation, contact Elizabeth at 215-542-5004 or

Somatic Psychology for Healing Trauma
Back by Popular Demand!
Friday, 10/15, 9 am – 4 pm
Long after a traumatic event has passed, individuals with posttraumatic stress disorder behave as if the threat is still present. The specific symptoms of hypervigilance, sleeplessness, anxiety, and overwhelm point to a hyper-arousal of the nervous system and the inability for those individuals to return to homeostasis. It is from this physiological perspective that this training addresses how such imbalance occurs and how the therapist can use somatic interventions to regulate the nervous system and heal the effects of trauma.

Join Somatic Psychologist Jodi Schwartz-Levy to learn ways to listen for the somatic impact of trauma and help clients access their body’s resources to transform it.

Increasing Self-Regulation in Children with Challenging Behaviors
Friday, 10/22, 9 am – 4 pm
Many children’s behavioral health programs focus on self-regulation as a key goal for social and academic success and use behavioral modification to help children achieve their potential. Often, however, certain vital aspects of the child’s needs are overlooked. This training will illuminate and address these gaps in serving the whole child by introducing an integrative model that provides eight lenses of well-being through which to view a child’s behavior and concrete strategies for helping children increase self-regulation (with emphasis on attachment and feelings of safety).

Increase your understanding of what is happening in the internal world of the child with self-regulation difficulties. Through interactive exercises and dialogue, Child Behavioral Specialist Denise Durkin provides a comprehensive model that really makes a difference.
