December 2009

Dear <<First Name>>,

Whenever we think of Christmas right away many of us start thinking about The List. You know The Big List, the Christmas gift list! What do the kids want this year?  More than likely your list was shorter this year. I know eventually we all get back to the real meaning of Christmas. What is true gift giving?  “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.” 1 John 3:16. Jesus laid His life down for us and it was the greatest gift the Father could have ever given us.

One time in a meeting I (Cathy) was attending a woman got up and said, “I see a vision of a Christmas tree with gifts under it. I think the Lord wants to give us some gifts.” Immediately the Lord spoke to me. “Cathy, do you know what I got for Christmas?” Obviously the Lord is asking me a question he already knows the answer to. So with curiosity and a little trepidation I said, “No Lord what did you get for Christmas?” He said, “I got you!” Suddenly, His love hit my heart! Jesus died willingly so that the Father could once again have relationship with me and with you! God loves you and you are His Christmas present.

You’re also a gift to us. We want to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas Season and give you a few updates below. We are so excited to be returning to Africa in February and will keep you posted. Thank you for your continued financial and prayer support.

Merry Christmas
Blessings,
Stuart and Cathy Greer

A New Beginning for Jr. High Students in Atebubu
We want to thank you for your giving. We were able to help build two new classrooms. The picture to your right is the first few students. The school now had over 320 students. Plans for building a new school have been drawn up and approvals made through the proper channels in Ghana, the only thing left is the money to complete it! So we’re praying the Lord will provide. Meanwhile we continue to move forward in simply improving the stability of the mud walls and helping where we can.

Leaving for Ghana and Liberia in February

Our next trip to Ghana will be in February. We will be meeting with government officials, ministering, speaking with church leaders and participating in a radio program. It’s our prayer we will also be able to do another round of church planting. In addition we are praying about a short trip into Liberia and a possible stop in the Middle East. If you would like to financially give towards this trip we won't stop you! :) Information for giving is at the bottom of this email. God bless you and thank you. - Stuart and Cathy (Pictured below are some of the students of Zion Elementary)
