The Hasso Plattner Institute-MIT Research Program on Designing for Sustainability will focus on sustainable design, innovation, and digital technologies. Christoph Meinel (left), professor and managing director at the Hasso Plattner Institute, and Hashim Sarkis, dean of the MIT School of Architecture and Planning, attended a signing ceremony for the agreement. More on MIT News.

"Ballet des Porcelaines" at MIT

Architecture's Kristel Smentek collaborated with MIT history professor Jeffrey Ravel to stage a series of discussions and class visits related to the complex context of this 18th-century ballet recently presented at MIT with the support of a 2022 Visiting Artist Grant from the MIT Center for Art, Science, and Technology.

Microscopy technique reveals hidden
nanostructure in cells and tissues

Interpreting public housing in America

Marisa Morán Jahn (SMVisS ’07) was recently selected for the 2022 Artist as Instigator Residence at the National Public Housing Museum, a fitting opportunity given public housing’s centrality to the lives of the low-wage workers and immigrant families with whom she works.
