Autumn is for changes.

"I am proud of our public library so each and every person can read as much as they can" - Martina 5th grade.

These are the messages we love to get and warm our hearts!

Did you know that higher literacy rates within a community are associated with less crime, and greater economic growth, and higher employment rates? These, in turn, confer higher wages to those who read more frequently.

But that's not why most people choose to read:

  • 26% of those who had read a book in the past 12 months said that what they enjoyed most was learning, gaining knowledge, and discovering information.
  • 15% cited the pleasures of escaping reality, becoming immersed in another world, and the enjoyment they got from using their imaginations.
  • 12% said they liked the entertainment value of reading, the drama of good stories, the suspense of watching a good plot unfold.
  • 12% said they enjoyed relaxing while reading and having quiet time.
  • 6% liked the variety of topics they could access via reading and how they could find books that particularly interested them.
  • 4% said they enjoy finding spiritual enrichment through reading and expanding their worldview.

Library staff love knowing that we are making your lives better and providing and developing the joy of reading and learning to the young and young at heart.

I'm so excited to share all of our new programs happening this fall. You can join us in person or virtually.

We're here for you.
