New StoryWalk added to Springbrook Trail!

We now have two Story Walks for our community to enjoy thanks to funding by the Antigo Public Library Foundation. Working in partnership Antigo Park and Recreation and Langlade County, this second walk is on the fencing along the Fairgrounds in the northeast part of the Springbrook Trail. The new trail is entered from North Avenue, and currently features the book Over and Under the Snow by Kate Messner.
The Story Walk beginning at the Hudson Street entrance and continuing to the Butterfly Garden is featuring No Two Alike by Keith Baker. Both books feature themes of animals in winter with things like hibernating and animal tracking are explored.

To extend the fun of taking the Story Walks, the library has created a scavenger hunt in the library for families to enjoy. We also have a Family Activity Challenge that encourages you to engage together in these and other activities related to our walks. Families who complete the scavenger hunt will earn a free book for every child in their family.

Families can request an activity bag with crafts, coloring sheet, learning pages and more related to animals in winter. We also have made a virtual learning space featuring educational games, videos and story readings related to Animals in Winter. You can request the bag and find links to the virtual space by visiting antigopl.org.

Winter reading

From January 1 to January 31, is our Winter Reading Challenge, "Read for a Better World," sponsored by Lerner Publishing Group. We challenge our patrons to read (listen) at least 10 hours during the month and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site at antigopl.beanstack.org or through the Beanstack mobile app.
Beanstack and Lerner publishing group will be offering participating libraries free access to books to help readers of all ages explore diversity, empathy, and action through literature. Registration is open and there are activities included for all ages. Those who complete the challenge will be in a drawing for a free book. We will give one book for adults, one for teens and one for children.
