So Much To Be Thankful For
Dear Friends & Colleagues,
November’s E-Newsletter is dedicated to Thanksgiving, one of my favorite inspirational holidays. Thanksgiving is a time for me to acknowledge and be thankful for all my blessings. Yes, this should be done daily, but too often my busy life consumes me and I may neglect and not be aware of those wonderful daily happenings. A fun, yet powerful strategy to “re-view” the past year is to visualize…allowing the past year of your life’s journey to come to mind like a “movie”.
Here are some of the insights I notice as I relax and visualize my last year.
I am thankful for:
My beautiful family, friends and office staff at Hellerstein & Brenner Vision Center, PC.
The patients and colleagues that I have had the pleasure of working with over this past year.
The teachers and mentors that have touched my life in so many ways.
I am blessed with great health and abundance. Love fills every cell of my body, from the top of my head all the way to the tips of my toes.
As I continue to breathe in and out, my mind and body continue to relax, letting go of any stress or tightness, a new light appears in my “movie”. That light brightens as it becomes clearer…the light is that of my new granddaughter, Edina Rose. Edina, born September 14, 2010, weighed in at a whopping 5 pounds 12 ounces. Five pounds…I gain and lose 5 lbs in a week! Yet this 5 lb. package is truly a gift of life. Having all the physical, emotional and spiritual tools in this little bundle is amazing. Giving birth to my own children was truly a miracle. Then seeing my daughter give birth to her own child is beyond words.
Now, it’s your turn. I invite you to take the opportunity for a few moments out of your busy schedule to “re-view” your past year. Close your eyes and focus on your breath as you breathe in and out. Continue breathing in fresh clean air and exhaling any tension or tightness. Now gently allow your imagination to create a “movie” of your life over this past year. Re-wind your “movie” and watch it again from the beginning. Observe all the wonderful events and opportunities that you were able to experience. See all the people and things in your life for which you are grateful—no matter how small or simple. See…feel…observe. Review your movie as long as you’d like. When you have completed this, allow your eyes to gently open. You might want to write a few thoughts or insights on a notepad.
Consider spending a few moments during this Thanksgiving month with your friends & family to:
See It! – visualize your special experiences in your life
Say It! – declare who you are in your truest self
Do It! – take action. Write 2 things down as to what you will do to be and live into the life that you have declared.
Ta-Dah! Enjoy your life’s journey and celebrate the transformations in your life.
I continue to be filled with gratitude and love. It is you, my friends, patients and colleagues who have taught me and energized my creation of the model by which I live my life— See It. Say It. Do It!
(Visualize. Declare. Take action). Through this model Ta-Dahs
are created; the transformation on our life’s journey.
Here is a picture of little Edina Rose, 2 weeks old. Is it my imagination or is she really saying and showing Ta-Dah?
Wait until you see how effective visualization strategies are for other academic subjects including spelling, math facts and creative writing ...coming up in future enewsletters!
With love and gratitude,
