The Gift of Gratitude

It’s the holiday season. A festive time of year, although we can easily get wrapped up in the hype, chaos and media marketing. This year, give yourself a gift…the gift of gratitude. Take some time to acknowledge and be thankful for all your blessings. Yes, this should be done daily, but too often the busyness of life consumes us and we may neglect and not be aware of those wonderful daily happenings.

Here are some of the insights...as I relax and visualize this past year, 2014. A few things that I am truly grateful for:
My beautiful family

My beautiful grand kids

My office staff at Hellerstein & Brenner Vision Center, PC

My friends

Our patients, whom we love and respect. We are honored with the trust and support they give to us.

My colleagues that I have had the pleasure of working with over this past year

My opportunity to speak around the country on See It. Say It. Do It! And visualization

Good health and abundance

Fun!

I invite you to take the opportunity for a few moments out of your busy schedule to “re-view” your past year. Close your eyes and focus on your breath as you breathe in and out. Continue breathing in fresh clean air and exhaling any tension or tightness. Now gently allow your imagination to create a “movie” of your life over this past year. Re-wind your “movie” and watch it again from the beginning. Observe all the wonderful events and opportunities that you were able to experience. See all the people and things in your life for which you are grateful—no matter how small or simple. See…feel…observe. Review your movie as long as you’d like. When you have completed this, allow your eyes to gently open. You might want to write a few thoughts or insights on a notepad. Consider spending a few moments during this Holiday Season with your friends & family to:
  • See It! – visualize your special experiences in your life
  • Say It! – declare who you are in your truest self
  • Do It! – take action. Write 2 things down as to what you will do to be and live into the life that you have declared.
  • Ta-Dah! – Enjoy your life’s journey and celebrate the transformations in your life.
I continue to be filled with gratitude and love. It is you, my family, friends, patients and colleagues who have taught me and energized my creation of the model by which I live my life — See It. Say It. Do It! (Visualize. Declare. Take action). Through this model, Ta-Dahs are created; the transformation on our life’s journey.
A very special thank you to Dr. Deb Sandella, my friend, mentor, creator of the RIM Institute and master healer, for sharing a beautiful meditation on gratitude. Read Deb's blog A Meditation on Gratitude.
The holiday season is soon approaching. My staff is having a little too much fun, learning about the new games and apps for their iPads.
