Have you been to Proper on Magnolia? Now I don't often hang out in bars, but I am in February. My work will be hanging on the walls there. Proper is a comfy place to hang our and have a drink or two. You can read about it in the Fort Worth Weekly here. Again, I'm not a connoisseur, but I have read about craft beers, and it seems that Proper has a bunch of them on tap. That's a good thing, right? There will be a reception February 5, 7:00 pm.

Who has seen Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs at MOMA in New York? I have had to settle for a shorter trip to the local theater. The film of the exhibition was held on one night across the country. Here in Fort Worth, it was held on a cold, blustery night at Ridgmar Mall. The film was really very interesting and included more than just walking by walls where the art was hanging. The curators showed how they made decisions about where to display the various works and there was a ballet choreographed to go along with the exhibition. That particular segment was fascinating to see how it was put together. After looking at the exhibition catalog, there is no comparison to seeing the works hanging on the wall; they are so much larger than one might suppose.

I wrote more about it here and included some links. I think I'm obsessed about this! I'm resisting the urge to take a short two-day trip to NYC.
