League Updates

The Men's and Ladies Leagues are nearing mid-season, and participation has been great. All members, as well as non-members, are welcomed to participate. Both events are a 5:30pm Shotgun.

Sue Horton heads up Ladies' Night on Monday and the fee for members is $5 and $25 for non-members (non-members are limited to 5 weeks.) There has been a record number of ladies this year, but there is always room for more! The format is fun and nearly all of the ladies stay for dinner in the clubhouse following the casual golf.

Dan Ruane has been running the Thursday Men's Night. The Men's Night is an individual quota game based on your handicap. League registration is $25 and $5 per night. Prizes are awarded for low net, low gross, hole contests and optional skins. At the end of the 10 weeks there will be a 9 hole shootout to crown a champion.

You can register for both right in the calendar of events on

On September 7th, The Mountain Course will be closed to regular play to host a private fundraising event for #TEAMNIXON.

The event is to raise money for pediatric cancer research and care after Nixon Clarke, then 5 years old, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

The Clarke family - Shawn, Karen, Hamilton and Nixon - joined The Club at Spruce Peak in 2018 and many of you who have met them are aware of their Aussie accents that are instantly recognizable. Nixon also stands out due to him slight addition to Kirkwood's chicken wings.

Their story is inspiring and you can read the first of a four part series to learn more about them on their
blog. Their tie to Stowe is simply incredible.
This is sure to be a special event for a special family and ALL members are invited to participate in this Family Golf Spectacular. Early Bird pricing is now available and includes Lunch, Golf, Dinner/Reception and an additional entry in an Australian Beach House Getaway (including airfare!)

Be sure to visit their website to learn more about their golf tournament, sponsorship opportunities and  to register to receive future blog posts and updates.
