Welcome to the first Camaraderie newsletter! We're glad you want to receive info about our space, members, and events. Now to get on with it!
tidbits and tidings
We occasionally change things up around here to keep it interesting for our members and guests. Every Mon morning starting on Mon May 10 we'll start doing weekly check-ins at 9:30am. These voluntary breakfast sessions are a great way to remind yourself of your achievements (what went well last week) and to keep your priorities in check(projecting your week ahead). If you plan to be in the space on Mon, bring your breakfast and we'll be sure to brew some coffee and tea. This ongoing event is open to any member or drop-in guest.
And we're continuously adding new things to the space, such as a rad red couch and bulletin boards. And our website will be redesigned this month too. The new version will include member profiles, an events calendar, and even the ability to reserve the boardroom on your own time. We're super excited and hope you find value in the redesign.
We're always happy to chat with folks about membership, events, and partnerships - don't be shy!
It's a May Membership Bonanza! For the May Membership Drive, we're offering monthly memberships for $200 with a 6mos commitment, and part time memberships at $150 with a 6mos commitment. Sign up for Jun or enjoy a pro-rated membership for the duration for May. Ford details on membership, see our membership page. We also have bulk rates for those who prefer to do the drop-ins, and have raised the limit from 4days/mo to 6days/mo.
Our featured member is Kathrin Kroenig.
She has worked from a coworking facility in Germany and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and ideas to make our space both productive and community-minded.
We asked her to answer a few questions in her own words so that others can get to know her a bit:
What is your company name and brief description?Be sure to say hi to Kathrin next time you're in!
I own a company in Germany called DELOS providing services in the area of HR Development for middle-sized companies. In Canada I work under my own name focussing here on leadership training and business coaching. Visit www.kathrin-kroenig.de
How does being an entrepreneur fit into your live/work balance?
I´ve always wanted to work for myself. To me life is about flexibility. I don´t see how there is a good time for work (09.00 to 05.00) or a good time without work. To me balance means to go with that inner flow; there might be weekends with lots of work and weeks with none at all. So being an entrepreneur seems the only possible mode of work.
What is the top thing you get out of working from Camaraderie?
It´s definitely the company! I have a hard time working quietly but working quietly all by myself is just depressing!
What is one thing you would like to see happen/change/start at Camaraderie that would benefit you the most?
More “rituals” that make a community.
until next time
Here's a productivity tip from Brad Isaac on LifeHacker: Create a chain of success - “Daily action builds habits. It gives you practice and will make you an expert in a short time. If you don’t break the chain, you’ll start to spot opportunities you otherwise wouldn’t.”
