Things haven't really slowed down here at Camaraderie in the past month. In one week we had an earthquake, riots, even more great media attention, and we've gained some great new members. Things are ticking along and we're glad to have you with us.
Book club announcement
We've really diversified our event calendar this month, a great mix of personal, social, and business (have a look on the side bar).
We're happy to announce our first ever book club meetup where we'll talk
about how to do less busy work and do more Great Work, with the book of the same name, Do More Great Work.
We hope you can join us on Tue Jul 27
for a lively discussion about increasing productivity and doing more awesome
things that make us feel even better. Until next time
Starting today we have to start charging 13% HST on top of all of our service offerings (memberships, venue rentals, mail receiving, etc) - except for the individual day drop-in pass; we figured we can leave that at a nice round $20.
We're looking forward to announcing some new partnerships with associated partner discounts (look for them in the Aug newsletter), though we're still looking for some more. Members are encouraged to let us know what kind of discounts they would like, and we'll see what we can do.
It's a short newsletter this time around, so we'll leave you with some a great list called 101 Essential Freelancing Resources, posted by Freelance Switch. The list actually turned into more than that with the awesome recommendations in the comments, and some of our favourites from the list include Freshbooks for invoicing, Wridea for managing idea generation, and Wufoo for forms and surveys. Two that we think should also be there are Prezi for an innovative way to do presentations and Project Wonderful for auction style web advertising.
