Bringing Life to Science
 
Stone Lab field trips have brought life to Lake Erie science to 282,000 kids and adults since 1973. Students get to be scientists for a day, trawling for fish and collecting weather data on a research cruise before returning to the lab for a fish dissection and other hands-on lessons.

Annual Lake Erie Watersnake Census Brings Volunteers Back to the Islands Year After Year
 
First started as part of the recovery program for the federally threatened snake in 2001, researchers led by Stone Lab's Dr. Kristin Stanford continue to use the census to collect data on the islands’ snake populations today.
