Courses like algae and larval fish identification,sport fishing, and outdoor photography introduce students to the beauty of the Lake Erie shore. |

Request for 2014 Pre-Proposals Available
The Ohio Sea Grant College Program is now requesting pre-proposals for one- to two-year research projects on Great Lakes issues with particular significance to Ohio, Lake Erie, and the Great Lakes region. The due date for pre-proposals is Thursday, 16 May 2013. Full proposals will be due Thursday, 18 July. |

Shrinkwrap Recycling Program Reaches 2 Million Pound Mark
Thanks to the Ohio Shrink Wrap Recycling Program, launched by the Ohio Clean Marinas Program and Ohio Sea Grant in partnership with Mondo Polymer Technologies, Inc., more than 2 million pounds of plastic shrink wrap have been recycled since the program’s inception in 2006. |

Visitors to the Progressive Mid-America Boat Show in Cleveland, held in January at the I-X Center, not only learned about some of the most important issues facing Lake Erie, they also helped raise more than $1000 for scholarships benefiting students who take summer classes at Stone Laboratory, Ohio State’s Island Campus on Lake Erie.
