First Year of Harmful Algal Bloom Research Initiative
Ohio Sea Grant has released the annual report for the first year of funding for the Harmful Algal Bloom Research Initiative (HABRI), which seeks statewide solutions for harmful algal blooms in Ohio.

Summer courses for educators provide invaluable hands-on experience and the tools you need to infuse your classroom with excitement about science. Scholarships are available; courses can also be taken as workshops.

Toledo Local Government Leadership Academy
Celebrating the 15th year of the Toledo Local Government Leadership Academy, Ohio Sea Grant and the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce recently presented 28 participants with leadership certificates.

Optimism After U.S.-Canada Move Against Algae, But More Work To Do

Last month the U.S. and Canada signed an agreement aimed at reducing phosphorous run-off by 40 percent.  It was largely praised by environmental groups and scientists, but setting the target is only one piece of the puzzle. 

Bowling Green project helped avert water crisis in Sandusky

A Bowling Green State University research project funded by the Ohio Department of Higher Education paid off big last summer when it averted a possible water crisis for the City of Sandusky.
