Dear Valued Donor,
The Rohingya people are suffering terribly. 409,000 people have fled across the border to Bangladesh since 25th August. Their homes and farmland have been burned and it is believed that over 1,000 people have been killed.
80% of the displaced Rohingya Muslims are women and children, and more than 400 babies have been born between the borders of Myanmar and Bangladesh in the past 15 days. Women are giving birth on the side of roads, without any medical supervision. They don’t have enough food to eat and cannot breastfeed. Many newborns have died.
Unimaginable misery in the border camps
To make matters worse, the monsoon rains have caused severe flooding in the makeshift refugee camps, leaving people knee-deep in dirty water. More torrential rain is expected to fall over the next couple of days, making life unbearable for the displaced Rohingya. They cannot get warm or dry, cook anything or even lie down to sleep.
You can be the answer to their prayers
From the comfort of our own homes, it’s often easy to put the suffering of others out of our minds. We must not forget the Rohingya people in their hour of desperate need. They are thousands of miles away, but their pain is real.
Our emergency parcels cost just £100 and can mean the difference between life and death for families who have been hunted like animals and stripped of their homes, possessions and dignity. £250 will buy a tent for a family of up to 10 people and shelter them from the elements.
You can save a precious life today.
