Dear Valued Donor,
Rashida is 25 years old. She is a Rohingya Muslim and has been forced to flee the violence in western Myanmar with her three small children. Speaking to Al Jazeera, Rashida describes how her home and farmland were burned and the corpses she saw on the ground in the village she used to call home.
As the crisis in Myanmar continues to escalate, more homes are being destroyed and more innocent people are being murdered every day.
Hungry and frightened
Rashida said: "We walked for eight days until we reached the border. We were very hungry and had nothing to eat except leaves off the trees. The children kept asking for food, but we could not carry anything with us, only my three children."
Rashida is one of the lucky ones. She managed to escape to Bangladesh with her life, but she feels hopeless and unhappy in the Kutupalong shelter camp. There isn’t enough to eat and her little ones are hungry.
The time to act is now
