Dear Valued Donor,
Little Ahmad is five years old. He lives in a refugee camp in Lebanon with his mother, father and two small siblings. He was born in Syria, while bombs were raining down. The family home was completely destroyed.
Ahmad’s parents soon realized that he had serious health problems, including pressure on his retinas that caused blindness. Ahmad’s family had to stay in Syria so that the little boy could receive a vital operation, even though all of their lives were at risk. Mercifully, Ahmad can now see again. However, he has brain damage and he needs medicine and physical therapy that his family cannot afford.
The cold weather could be fatal to little Ahmad
The cold weather puts Ahmad at risk of contracting infectious diseases because his little immune system is too weak to protect him. Ahmad’s father cannot find work in the winter and doesn’t know how to keep his little boy warm.
Ahmad’s father says: "Whenever the Syrian border is opened, I will go back to Syria because even death is better than living under these miserable conditions."
