Dear Valued Donor,
The situation in Syria is getting worse. At least 40 people have been killed by airstrikes and an explosive attack in the province of Idlib. In the besieged area of Eastern Ghouta, 126 people have lost their lives since the end of December, including 29 children and 28 women.
In recent weeks, over 100,000 people have fled their homes in the violent chaos of this ongoing civil war. The new escalation in hostilities is putting millions of civilian lives at risk in both Idlib and Eastern Ghouta. They are trapped and helpless in an increasingly packed space.
A waking nightmare for displaced families
In Idlib, the makeshift camps are dangerously overcrowded. Facilities like toilets and showers are overwhelmed and some services are being stretched to 4 times their capacity. In Eastern Ghouta, families suffer under tight siege conditions, desperate for any scrap of food and in dire need of medical care.
What’s worse? Winter is here. The freezing cold, wind and rain brings sickness and misery. Babies and small children are crying out with cold and hunger, and their parents are helpless to keep them warm or fed.
Human Appeal is on the ground in Syria
Human Appeal is on the ground in Syria, responding to this new crisis. We aim to support at least 20,000 vulnerable people but we can do nothing without your help. Just £65 will provide a Syrian family of four with enough nutritious food for a whole month, allowing them to eat full meals every day.
£100 will provide a vulnerable family with clothes, blankets and fuel vouchers so they can stay warm in the freezing weather. £165 will buy both nutritious food and clothing, blankets and fuel vouchers, keeping a desperate family with defenceless young children well-fed, warm and protected from the bitter cold.
Help us lift up the people of Syria in their hour of need.
