Ongoing News

Erie Lackawanna bi-level auto rack with anti-vandal panels  — the model is sold out at Micro-Trains® and most of the retailers across the continent.  ESM still has a small quantity available for sale on the website.  We anticipate they will not be around for long, so don't delay!

X58 Boxcar, release 3 — The cars remain scheduled to ship at the end of February.

As a reminder ... we
offer the only prototypically-accurate ready-to-run X58-series boxcar model with prototypically-accurate schemes based on photographs of the prototype — in any scale!  Every model released is visually unique in multiple ways!  No renumbering or altering of other graphics is necessary in order to build a fleet of distinct-looking cars!  All other similarly-decorated models are mere stand-ins!

Watch for this beautifully-detailed and fully-accurate RBL-classified X58 with DFB loaders to appear at your favorite hobby dealer toward the end of March!

Made in America gondola kits — New digital masters for the Low Side Gondola have been submitted for producing the rapid prototype masters, as we believe all of the rendering issues have been resolved.  The casting of the G32C parts remains in progress.

New Announcements

In the December issue of the ESM Newsletter, we announced that two new models would be appearing this year in addition to the X65 Boxcar!  One is all-new tooling, and the other is a resurrected model from the past with enhanced detail and graphics!  Pilot samples of one or both of these models will be on display at our booth during the Springfield show later this month!  The first person to correctly guess what both models are will receive a free ESM car — specifically, the GATX 40' Chemical Tank originally released during the early years of ESM!  Produced at the time entirely by RivaRossi to ESM specs, this popular model has been discontinued for over 20 years!  Here is an opportunity to pick up this ESM classic!  All guesses should be emailed to promo2014@esmc.com prior to January 20!  Good luck!

Last month, we held our second annual Facebook Cover Photo Contest!  Following are the winning entries for 2013!  Click on the photos below to see the larger original submissions.

1st Place — Ed Kapuscinski, "Stainless Steel Panels in Winter"

2nd Place — Eric Payne, "The Team Track at Greenspring"

3rd Place — Greg Okrasinski, "Awaiting Help for Pocono Climb"

Honorable Mention — David K. Smith, "The Creakers"

Thanks to everyone who contributed photos to the contest, and we look forward to even greater participation next year!

On the Horizon

The identities of our next two models will be revealed at the Springfield show later this month!  The February issue of the Newsletter will have artwork renderings of the newly tooled model as well as the tentative release schedule.  Details of the resurrected model will appear in the March issue.
