Dear Alumni,

This is the October edition of the Pi Kappa Alpha - Lambda Omega Newsletter. We want to continue reaching out to our alumni to keep them in the loop of the current involvement within the chapter.

The active brothers have had a very eventful month! We will be initiating the Mu Pledge Class that consists of sixteen great men within the first few days of November. We participated in many homecoming events including the marquee event - Dance the Madness - and performed with the ladies of Phi Mu. We also continue to excel in giving back to the community and have one of our favorite philanthropic  events - "Holiday With The Kids" - coming up in December with our close friends in the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.

This upcoming month our current Dream Girl, Alison Miller, of Alpha Xi Delta, will be stepping down and we will be hosting our annual Dream Girl event to find someone to take her place on November 15th at 7 p.m. in West Village Ballrooms A & B.

Our chapter will also be holding elections for the new Executive Board that will be leading our chapter for 2017 on November 20th.

Check out our Twitter, Facebook and newly designed website!
We would like to welcome the Mu class into our chapter! After an exuberating but exciting rush week at the end of September, sixteen great men have taken the pledge to become active members within our fraternity. These men have expressed in a numerous of different ways what a True Pike is. The Mu class will be initiated within the first few days of November. Congratulations to the Mu pledge class of the Fall of 2016!
Supporting our ladies of Zeta Tau Alpha chapter as they continue their efforts to spread awareness and battle breast cancer!
A few brothers and sisters of the Phi Sigma Sigma help out our close friends at the Blessed Sacrament Parish Church.
We would like to congratulate the brothers who took gold this month in the fall intramural volleyball championship!
We plan to send 15+ guys to the PIKE U event located in Philadelphia Pennsylvania the upcoming month! Thank you to the 4 alumni sponsors who fully paid the registration of 4 brothers!
(Top Left)  Rec Room hosted a family during Parents Weekend in which we had 25+ family members come. The event sparked the creation of a bi-annual parent newsletter.

(Top Right) Our Fall of 2016 rush shirt.

(Bottom Left) PIKE, Alpha Sig and PSK will be partnering to bring the B+ Foundation 5k event to life this December. This is the first collaborative event between the 3 chapters!

(Bottom Right) PIKE will again be participating in the Holiday for the Kids event with AOPi in order to bring Christmas gifts to kids at Highland Elementary Middle School #237 School
For the past year our chapter has been volunteering on a weekly basis at the Blessed Sacrament Parish Church in Baltimore. Every Wednesday night a few brothers go to the church and help distribute food and beverage to the underprivileged families in the community. The brothers get a chance to sit down and talk one on one to some of the individuals and keep them company as they enjoy a warm meal. Brothers also have been assisting in the ongoing sale of some church property. We help move large furniture, organize salvageable items, and clean up debris for their ongoing yard sale. From spending so much time here, our great friend Marie - who is a dedicated member and volunteer of the church - has allowed our chapter to use their basement ballroom as our new initiation location for each pledge class!
