Towson Pike is Pulling Away from the Pack

Dear Alumni,

This is the first edition of the new Pi Kappa Alpha - Lambda Omega newsletter. We are proud to say that we are reaching out to our alumni in order to foster a better relationship. We want to create a system that allows the active chapter to learn from the alumni and for the alumni to continue their life long commitment to Pi Kappa Alpha. This newsletter will consist of Spring 2016 highlights and a brief look forward to Fall 2016.

This a key semester for the active chapter as a crucial rush approaches because rival chapter TKE was suspended and Alpha Sigma is gaining popularity. Not only will we look to have an incredible pledge class but we will continue to build on our active members with the implementation of the True Pike Experience program from the International Fraternity which focuses on personal and professional development.

Our most recent highlight was the International Fraternity Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana. There, the brothers claimed another Scholarship and 100+ Man Chapter award. The Alumni Advisory Board was also recognized as one of the top in the nation among Pi Kappa Alpha Chapters!

Here is the Lambda Class that Recruitment Officer, Charlie Bingham, and New Member Educator, Ryan Ruble, helped bring into this chapter. So far the Lambda Class has been heavily involved in chapter programing and they are looking to continue their support any way they can.
Fall Rush is coming and the chapter is looking to pull away as the premiere chapter with the help of a recruitment visit from the National Director of Membership Development , Devon  T. Teixeira on August 29th - September 1st.
Pike University is November 11th - 13th in Philadelphia and it is crucial that we get the young brothers there to inspire and guide them to one day become the leaders of our fraternity.
The brothers continued to dominate the reign of Greek Week wins with a 50+ point lead in the end. The brothers dominated the athletic field day yet again.
After becoming back-to-back Phi Mu Frats-at-Bat Champions, the PIKE Softball team went on to to win first place in the Mens Competitive Intramural Softball League.
Firemans Challenge was a success again after the Sororities and Brothers teamed up to bring in just over $15,000 and aim to break $20,000 again next year. Alpha Xi Delta were the sorority winners of the week!
A brotherhood event started at Dickies and ended with an Oriole's win.
Alyson Miller will end her reign as Dream Girl on November 7th, 2016. Alyson was the 5th Dream Girl for Pi Kappa Alpha and is key to the Alpha Xi Delta recruitment committee.

Are you interested in coming to speak to the chapter, talking about your career or doing mock interviews? Can you attend a BBQ, an O's game or a Alumni Mixer? Look forward to invitations to events like these and come looking to help a chapter who needs its alumni base to progress and learn in ways that we can't on our own.
