Dear Alumni,

This is the September Edition of the Pi Kappa Alpha - Lambda Omega Newsletter. We are proud to say that we are continuing our outreach to the alumni, fostering a more consistent relationship. We want to create a system that allows the active chapter to learn from the alumni while the alumni continue their lifetime bond with Pi Kappa Alpha and have confidence in a thriving chapter.

This edition will cover highlights such as the Fall 2016 Rush Class and a call to action for alumni to come back and make an impact on our chapter!
Check out our Twitter, Facebook and newly designed website!
Our newest pledge class - the Mu Pledge Class - is comprised of 16 men. Recruitment Officer, Charlie Bingham, met over  85+ recruits this semester. He is confident that these men will be the best brothers in years to come. The pledge class is comprised of 10 Freshman, 5 Sophomores, and 1 Junior. The members of the Mu Class have several accomplishments including:
  • 2014 HS Lacrosse National Champion (Owings Mills, MD)
  • Past Coastal Carolina OLB and HS Football Captain (Silver Spring, MD)
  • HS Basketball 1000 Pt Scorer (East Brunswick, NJ)
  • NJ Football State Champion and All-Shore Team (Middletown, NJ)
  • First Team Lacrosse CVC Player and Varsity Captain (Millstone, NJ)
  • 3rd Team All-State Track (Middletown, DL)
  • Lacrosse State Championship, 2x Lacrosse County Championship, and S.H.E.I.L.D. (Service Helping Everyones Leadership Development) Member (Saddle River, NJ)
  • All County Baseball Player (Merrick, NY)
The Fall Rush Table was revamped this semester as the chapter looked to pull away as the premiere chapter on campus.
Pike University is November 11th - 13th in Philadelphia. It is crucial that we inspire the young brothers and guide them to one day become the leaders of our fraternity. If any alumni are interested in sponsoring a brother to attend Pike University, please contact the chapter advisor, Tom Sporney.
Devon T. Teixeira, Tom Sporney and David Bornn meet up to discuss the chapter goals moving forward.
This years final rush event was replaced with an invite only O's Game!
Brothers and New Members participated in the new Zeta Tau Alpha Philanthropy Event, ZTA Pink Games.
Our new alumni advisory board member, David Bornn. He will be acting as the chapters Recruitment Advisor. He currently serves Morgan State as the Director of  Leadership and Military Services.
Brother Bartnik has a consistent spot as the Rec Room day drink DJ.

In order to keep our professional ties with the alumni, we are looking for alumni interest in a "Speed Dating Interview" event at 6 p.m. before our meeting on Sunday, October 16th. In addition to the interviews we would like to invite the alumni to speak at the 7 o'clock meeting to discuss their time since college. If you are interested, please email: taubin1@students.towson.edu

(Top Left) The Steaks and Stogies event continues to be the most well attended event on the PIKE Rush Week Schedule.

(Top Right) Alpha Epsilon Phi contacted the chapter about cosponsoring a Recycle Rush CAP Event which will feature a Corn Hole Tournament using recyclable goods.

(Bottom Left)
Devon T. Teixeira came to Towson and delivered several chapter meetings in order to help the brothers with Fall 2016 recruitment and with the implementation of the TRUE Pike Experience (TPE).

(Bottom Right) Brothers traveled to New Jersey to support Alumni Giuseppe "Juice" Paternostro's
late father, Joe "Pizza" Paternostro at the Joe Pizza 5k. All of the proceeds are donated to the Joe Paternostro Memorial Fund to raise money for soccer scholarships, Joe’s family and the American Heart Association.
