2014 Listening Sessions

We are holding more than 20 listening sessions across Oregon in early 2014. Your input will help FoFF set our 2015 legislative priorities and continue to refine our guiding food and farm policy document, the Agricultural Reclamation Act. See below for further details, and when we'll be stopping by a town near you.

Apply Now for Federal Grants & Crop Insurance

USDA is accepting applications from producers for two grants: Value Added Producer Grants (due 2/24/14) and Conservation Stewardship Project (due 1/17/14). In addition, deadlines are approaching in early 2014 to apply for or change your crop insurance through the Risk Management Agency.  Click here for more information>>

Give!Guide Final Days

The end of the year is approaching, and so are the final days of the Give!Guide. A huge 'Thank You' to all who have donated so far! If you'd still like to give, please visit FoFF's Give!Guide page (we're under the Social Action category). With your support, we look forward to what we can accomplish in 2014!

A Year in Review for Friends of Family Farmers

As 2013 draws to a close, it’s time to look back at a very successful and productive year for Friends of Family Farmers and our work to support family-scale, socially responsible farmers and ranchers across Oregon.

Over the past year, we have achieved many successful milestones. We passed important legislation in Salem, organized farmers and consumers to get involved in key policy issues, and we provided educational opportunities and resources to farmers across the state. We completed our fourth straight year of inFARMation educational events and we welcomed 270 farmers, ranchers and landholders to our agricultural landlink program, iFarm, making 15 land matches. As we look forward to 2014, we thank our many members and supporters who have helped us continue to advocate for socially responsible family farmers in Oregon.

Please consider donating to FoFF in your year-end giving and stay tuned as we continue to advocate for socially responsible agriculture and family farmers in Oregon in the coming year.

Save the Dates: FoFF 2014 Listening Session Tour Dates Announced

A listening session is a community meeting where producers come together to talk about the beauty of and the barriers to farming successfully in Oregon. It is also a chance to brainstorm solutions and help define what the future of agricultural policy in Oregon looks like. Your input will help FoFF set our 2015 legislative priorities and continue to refine our guiding food and farm policy document, the Agricultural Reclamation Act. In these sessions, you will also learn about the new Oregon lending program for beginning and expanding farmers known as “Aggie Bonds.” Creating policies to support family farmers and ranchers is a process that takes commitment and sustained energy, but together, we are making progress. If you are an Oregon farmer or rancher, we hope you will join us at one of our listening sessions and help us keep Oregon a great place to live and farm.

We are holding more than 20 listening sessions across Oregon in early 2014. The first leg will be in collaboration with Ecotrust, FamilyFarmed.org, and other regional partners as we host four Wholesale Success trainings for fruit and vegetable producers. A FoFF listening session will be part of these full day events.
