July 2022 Newsletter
Settling in:
Wow, three months I have been living here and time is flying by fast! The last few months have been a time of settling into my new home, starting up ministry and building relationships with the people here.
Prayers answered!
In my last newsletter I asked  you all to pray for some things and I am pleased to say that God is taking care of these things every step of the way. In May I received my work permit, so now I can stay here without any problems.
I also have been living in my new home with my new roommate, Yonna. She has helped me in so many ways. She has helped me to better communicate with the people and helped me to get settled into life in Guyana. She has also been asking me so many questions about the Bible and I can see that she is growing in her relationship with God. Yonna has also helped a lot with ministry here and I hope to continue to disciple her in hopes that she will also make disciples.

Bible study:
I have started a small Bible study right in my home. In my newsletter before I had mentioned starting a Discovery Bible Study. This Bible study is part of the Timothy Initiative. In the study we focus on reading the Bible, re-telling the passage, asking questions and asking ourselves what we must do based on the passage. It has been great because it gets everyone involved and talking. I am amazed at how God is working in their lives and happy to hear what they get from the passage!

In June we had a group of youth from three different villages come together for a time of fellowship, devotion and volleyball. It was awesome to have everyone come together!
Camp:
We are T-minus 2 and a half weeks from camp… and counting! I am so excited for camp this year and so are the leaders and campers. Camp will be July 25th-29th in Sebai and August 8th-12th in Whitewater. We started a leadership training on June 9th and we have been meeting once a week every week to talk about camp. We are trying to prepare the leaders as much as possible so they feel prepared and comfortable with helping during camp.

The rain won't stop us from walking to Bible study!
Prayer for this month:
  1. Pray for my Bible study that the people will remain faithful in coming and continue to grow in their faith and that new Bible study leaders will emerge.
  2. Pray for the leaders that they feel ready for camp and prepared to pour into the lives of the campers.
  3. Pray for the camper’s hearts will be prepared and that they will be open to Jesus and the life change he can have in us.
