Good news!
I am finally in Guyana! The long-awaited anticipation is over and I am here. Thank you to everyone for you prayers and support. There are not enough words to express how grateful I am. Before I came to Guyana, I was waiting for my landing permit that I applied for in January to come through and it came through on March 29th. I then booked my ticket for March 31st and made my way here. I had already packed up all my things, so I was ready to go. The only thing I couldn’t prepare for, was the good-byes. Although I know I will see my family and friends again, it was very hard to say good-bye. We comforted ourselves in knowing that this is God’s plan, and He will never fail us.
Initial things to do:
When I came to Guyana, I started doing all the necessary things (in Georgetown, the city) that it takes to move here. I started with my TIN (Tax Identification Number) and applied for my driver’s license. I also applied for my working permit, which I will need to live here long-term, since the landing permit will only allow me to stay for 3 months. Then came the fun part: buying all the household items and sending them on a boat to the interior. It took 2 weeks of waiting and finally it is here!

What's going on now?
I flew into the interior 2 weeks ago and have been getting settled in and getting into the swing of things. Since I have been here, we have been to many villages for church. We even travelled two hours by boat to go to two different villages, Sebai and Port Kaituma for the Easter weekend. Here it is tradition to fly a kite around this time. Down below you can see some of the kids flying kites. The right picture is at least 17 people following through in believer's baptism.
Youth plans:
We had a great meeting about camp this year and we are going to start doing a youth activity in each village leading up to camp. We are hoping to see many teens come to camp. We are going to shoot our numbers high and hope for at least 250! I have also been attending a Discovery Bible Training in hopes that I will be able to start a Discovery Bible study with teens in different villages. Right now, there are so many plans and ideas and I am so excited to get started with ministering to the people of Guyana!
My first Discovery Bible Study! Very excited to start one of my own.
Prayer for this month:
  1. Pray for those who have been trusting in Jesus and getting baptized, that they will continue to grow in their faith.
  2. Pray for me as I start moving into my new place tomorrow! Pray that I will get settled in nicely.
  3. Pray for my working permit that I am currently waiting for. It should be ready within the next couple of weeks.
  4. Pray for the churches all around and the youth activities that will be starting soon.
  5. Pray as we prepare for camp. We want to reach as many youth as possible so they can grow in their walk with God.
