Hi <<First Name>>

We have loved celebrating different home ed heroes on our social media this month. We have been able to celebrate:

Charlotte Mason, Julia Bogart, Peter Grey, John Holt, Joy Baker, Ainsley Arment, Portsmouth Home Ed group, Rowan (invitations to play), Kiki and the Wildlings, Jo Symes, Molly Ashton, Lizz Quain and more to come!

Each one of them enriches our journey as a community of home educators in different ways. We are grateful for their contributions to our own journeys and want to continue this theme of gratitude into this new month. The dictionary defines gratitude as ‘the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for, and to return kindness’ and in this increasingly fast stampede to our festive season it can feel as if gratitude gets trampled in the melee.
There is so much at Streams that we can be grateful for;

- Grateful for the freedom we have to home educate and, along with that, not taking our freedom for granted (ref Portsmouth case). We have a responsibility to be aware of what is happening on a political level and engage where we can, whilst equally not walking in fear. Freedom is a gift we are all grateful for.

- Grateful for family - family comes in many different forms, may we be grateful for the precious family moments we share this festive season.

- Grateful for the time we have with our kids. As we watch our children grow (we know this can happen so quickly!), may we be grateful that, in choosing to educate outside of the system, we have the gift of time with our children we would otherwise not have. So even on those grumpy and challenging days, may we take a moment to be grateful.

- At Streams we are grateful that you have chosen to come on this journey with us. As our community grows, we love hearing from you, reading your stories and reviews. We have so many exciting ideas to develop and share over next year, we look forward to 2022.
It has been an exciting couple of weeks for us at Streams HQ;

- Juliet was speaking at a GalileoXP InspirEd event ‘You can educate your children, even if you are not a teacher’

- Jo wrote a guest blog for Progressive Education

- Our first Blog is now live! You can read Part 1 ‘Keeping the Big Picture in Mind’

We have lots more events and opportunities planned for next year. Do contact us at if there is an opportunity you would like Streams to connect in with.
So, as we head into this season, may we be mindful that sharing gratitude is also a gift. We love this quote from American author and poet William Arthur Ward

"Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it."

May we know what it is to wrap our gratitude and give gratitude gifts this Christmas.

Wishing you a Christmas season full of joy, peace, love and gratitude,

Jo, Juliet, Matt and Siân
