Make Sure to Turn on Pictures Hello everybody,

Just in time for fall's arrival, we're releasing the Northwoods Maple Leaf. This new design creates striking pieces almost 9.5" (24cm) across and 7.5" (19cm) tall. As an added bonus, there is a custom slumping surface on the back of the mold that transforms the cast leaves into plates - perfect for a slice of pumpkin cheesecake, or warmly glowing candles. Of course, this time of the year we are using autumn-inspired reds, oranges, tangerines, and yellows to make our leaves. Find these frit "recipes" along with filling and firing instructions in the new project sheet.

Don't get the impression that this mold is a one-trick pony. All the techniques developed for the other Big Leaf designs can be used with the Northwoods Maple Leaf. For example, like with the Aralia Leaf, tack fuse three or more maple leaves together to make platters and wall art. Or, create some fall ambience with a Northwoods Maple Leaf votive holder. Just follow the same instructions for the Kiwi Leaf votive.

Let us know what you think.

Larry Jacobsen

PS Thanks everybody for the nice complements regarding our Pattern Fusers. We have also made some updates to the firing schedule in the Pattern Fuser Basics project sheet. You can download and print it here.
