Redd Descendency Number
Dave Hopper

An RDN is a number that will tell others where a person fits into the Redd Family Tree.  To see the list of RDNs as currently assigned, use this link:http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35104081/RDNs.xls
I have coded the first column of the chart GREEN to indicate that I have received a recent update for this area of the chart.  If your family’s area is not green, please find someone in your line that has a significant number of family names and birth years to add to the chart.  I expect that there are about 4000-5000 names that are not yet entered, so I would like to enter 50-300 names together if possible.  Is there someone in your family that could easily provide me with a list, please encourage them to do so.

To see the key for how to build an RDN, use this link:

Spreadsheets containing the additions to the RDN lis should be sent to me at the following address: Dave Hopper

Lemuel Hardison Redd around the time of his marriage to Keziah

2nd Best Place for a meal in Rural Utah
George Young
On Your Way to the Redd Reunion, sidetrips, etc...2nd Best Place for a meal in Rural Utah
On your way to or from St George, you might want to stop in Fillmore and check out Cluff’s Carhop Cafe--recently recognized as the 2nd best place to take a meal in rural Utah.  Cluff’s (270 N Main St.) is the “real thing” for those with fond memories of the hamburger joints/malt shops of the middle decades of the twentieth century.  The proprietor, Mr. Cluff, a graying man, presents himself as a bit of a hippy type of guy who has found wide acceptance from the locals as a result of the meals he turns out.  Five of us dropped in for Milk Shakes one evening last week.  I ordered Peanut Butter and it was thick and delicious.
It should be noted that Mr. Cluff also owns the antique shack situated right next door to the drive-in.  One needn’t bother walking over there to check out the merchandise, even though the shelves in the windows are lined with various objects of considerable age and interest.  The door is securely bolted and a hand written sign taped to the inside of the door window states unequivocally, “Nothing in this store is for sale!!!  Nothing!!! Not for no one!”   I guess you could call this “Doing business Fillmore style”.
If time isn’t an issue, it’s best to get out of the automobile before the carhop comes to take the order, go inside, select any one of the delicious sandwiches available and, until the order arrives, enjoy scanning the walls which are covered with automobile license plates dating back to 1947.   Once the food has been enjoyed, the traveler is less than a mile from the Interstate which will facilitate a quick trip back to the Big City and to the 21st Century.
