Registration in Now Open

This is a reunion you will not want to miss. Visit the Redd homesite and gaze on the spectacular vista that remains hidden to millions yet constant for those who visit the charming hamlet of New Harmony.  Meet Keziah and Sariah and get a glimpse of what raising a couple dozen children without running water and indoor plumbing was like.  Hear Pap Redd chord  on the organ to one of his favorite tunes "Sweet Birds." Watch over your children's shoulders as he demonstrates how to make tools and start a fire using elements available in the wild. For those of us who have inherited Pap's love of music you can be part of the Redd family musical ensemble. You will hear stories you've never heard before and connect with cousins you've never known. For the children this will be an adventure with games, prizes and fun that will help ease them back into the school year.  Sign up now for the Saturday September 3, 2011 reunion in New Harmony, Utah by visiting

Your Help is Needed

D.Gordon Wilson, President of the Redd Family Organization invites you to encourage your children, siblings and cousins who have not yet heard about the reunion to sign up for our newsletters which will be coming out once a month until September. When they sign up they will be asked which of Lemuel's children they come from. Remind them if they don't know, if you don't know either it is okay to put unknown if you are not sure. Gordon says "To date, the great bulk of the email registrations have come from the descendants of Lemuel Burton Redd, Lemuel Hardison Redd, Jr., and William Alexander Redd.  Wonderful!  Conversely, we are woefully short on descendents of Alice Redd Rich, Hazel Redd Vidmar, and James Monroe Redd. If you are aware of any cousins from these families, please encourage them to register and to let their families know. This is a monumental and historic effort.  The last time there was a Redd reunion of this magnitude was in 1956 at Lagoon.  We’re expecting this reunion to be a major step in identifying and linking a whole new generation of Redds.  Please help us by contacting your family and cousins! Contact Gordon if you have ideas or questions about the reunion at

Reunion Tour Guide

Brent Prince, a cowboy from New Harmony, blogs "I teach fourth grade in St. George Utah. I enjoy horses and spending any spare time I can find riding the trails of Pinevalley Mountain. I enjoy the history of New Harmony and I am very proud I carry two great pioneer names (Ann Moriah Redd and Benjamin Jones Redd)." Once, when Brent and his father were putting a pipe line in south of the old homesite, they unearted some old bottles at the top of the hill that he has saved and will put on display along with books about the New Harmony-Kanarra Cattle company and old tokens from the New Harmony CO-OP store where Ann Moriah Redd assisted.
