Advisory: Mountain Bike Tour on East Coast Trail
Please be advised that there will be mountain bikers on the East Coast Trail on July 11, 12 and 13. Sacred Rides Mountain Bike Adventures, a mountain biking tour company has, without the approval of the East Coast Trail Association, scheduled a mountain bike tour on several ECT paths. Hikers should be alert for mountain bikers and exercise caution on Father Troy's Trail (Flatrock to Torbay) on Friday afternoon, July 11, on or near Sugar Loaf Path, in the vicinity of the White Hills, on Saturday morning, July 12 and Cape Spear Path (Cape Spear to Maddox Cove return) on Sunday, July 13. Additional tours are scheduled for August 15-17 and September 12-14 with a similar itinerary.
