Oral health is vital to overall health. Kids and families need dental coverage to access timely, routine care and prevent dental issues that can become chronic, painful conditions that interfere with work and school and long-term health.
For some Washingtonians, dental care is still out of reach. SB 5274 provides dental coverage for Washingtonians from three Pacific Island nations: the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Marshall Islands and the Republic of Palau. Last year, Washingtonians from these communities led efforts to create the COFA Islander Health Care Program, but no dental coverage was included.
In order to offer families a full scope of health care coverage and achieve parity with Medicaid, we are asking lawmakers to pass SB 5274 and add dental coverage to the COFA Islander Health Care Program! Join us!
The full state Senate will vote on this bill TODAY or in the next few days. Please take action now.
