Washington Works on a Foundation of Care

High-quality child care enables families to work and thrive, and nurtures the healthy growth of Washington’s kids. As the COVID-19 pandemic puts early learning providers under incredible strain, many have been forced to closed their doors. Across the country, 49% of child care capacity could be lost, while here in Washington available child care spots are already down by 35%. Without significant help from additional stimulus funds to help child care programs stay open or re-open, Washington’s future is being put at risk.

TELL LAWMAKERS TO INVEST IN CARE
Congress must take immediate action to pass significant new funding for child care so that providers can serve essential workers now, and have the resources to survive until this crisis ends. Without this help, the very people families and businesses depend upon to allow parents to work will no longer be there, and economic recovery will be impeded.

Congress can help connect all families with high-quality, affordable child care provided by educators who are paid what they deserve. A well-resourced, equitable child care system is essential for kids, families, and a healthy economy.

We urge lawmakers to provide at least $50 billion in additional stimulus funding targeted to support child care providers.

LET'S MAKE A CHILD CARE A PRIORITY!
