Flyers have been posted on the Crow Wood Facebook page and posted in the club, so make sure you let all your family and friends know about it, and support this excellent cause.

Competition Result

Congratulations to Robert Morrison in winning last Tuesday's (19th July) Medal, with a superb 63 playing off a handicap of 19.

Crow Wood Senior's Open

The Crow Wood Senior Open will take place this Thursday, 28th July.
Bookings to date are strong, but there are still plenty of spaces left.

If anyone can spare some time to help out collecting cards, marking scoreboards etc, please contact John Scott on 07427614429, to ensure the event runs as smoothly as possible.

Members Invitational - 30th July

Next Saturday, 30th July is the annual Crow Wood Members Invitational. This years event will take the form of an 8:30am and 1:30pm Shotgun start. Spaces will be taken quickly, so please book your tee time directly with Ian Graham in the pro-shop.

The course is looking and playing as well as it has for a number of years, so its a great time to bring a guest to show the progress the club has made.

Looking back down the 13th. Seems a long way?

Course Condition

With the course playing so well, and improving each week, can we all take the time to ensure we do our bit to keep the course in good condition, to make every round as enjoyable as possible.

  • Repair your own pitchmark, and at least one other on every green you visit.
  • Replace all divots, however small.
  • Rake bunkers thoroughly after use.
  • Keep trolleys and buggies off sensitive areas, especially around greens and areas under repair
  • Ensure all litter is disposed of properly.
  • Be courteous to other golfers, allowing faster groups through, and be ready to play when it is your turn. Nobody comes to Crow Wood to run round, but excessive slow play can frustrate and spoil the enjoyment of groups held up.
  • But above all, enjoy your golf and time at Crow Wood !

Questions from the course
Q - What were the thoughts behind the positioning of the trees down the right hand side of the 10th hole?

A - Before the trees were planted, the relatively open area was effectively a bail out area, and as a result a lot of drives were heading towards the 11th tee.  The new plantation encourages shots away from this area effectively providing protection to golfers leaving the 11th tee.

The mature trees to the left of the burn, when in full leaf, are crowding the left side of the fairway, and the intention is to sensitively prune these back to open up the left hand side of the fairway and allow better playability of the hole.

Please remember that that this Sunday 24th, the 1st tee is reserved for Cadets (Under 12's) between 1 & 2 pm. The picture on the right is the one of the new Cadet mini hole postions on the approach to the 15th green
