Competition Results
After some pretty exciting matches last weekend, the line up for Saturday's (10th Sept.) Gents Club Championship semi finals looks like this:

  • Craig Taylor v Raymond Barnes
  • Kieran McCormick v Darren Corr

We are guaranteed a new Crow Wood Club Champion, so good luck everyone!

Some excellent playing conditions welcomed the Crow Wood Open on 27th August, with unusually light winds leading to fine scoring. Congratulations to all the winners on the day.

  2.  Ray Hammerton    67 (7)
  3.  Dave Barrie           67 (5)

Also, the recent Tuesday Medals also produced some excellent wins for the following-

  • James Kelly 63 (17)  - 30th August
  • Anthony Smith 72 (14) – 6th September

Cancer Research UK

I am delighted to report, that the family charity fun day held on August 27th was a great success, raising close to £3,200 for Cancer Research UK.
A big thanks to everyone at Crow Wood who helped out and supported what we hope will become a regular event.

A delighted Lance Johnson & John Condron receive the Crow Wood Quaich at the 2015 Prizegiving, from Watson Cuthbert.

Seniors Update

With one match to play (Bishopbriggs v Cawder), Crow Wood share the lead with Bishopbriggs in the Kelvin Friendship League. However, even if Bishopbriggs lose, they still win the league due to better head to head results over Crow Wood.(a win and a draw), so we are guaranteed 2nd place for 2016.

The consolation is that Crow Wood hold the annual closing dinner on November 10th, which is always a hugely enjoyable social event.

If you are interested in playing Senior matches for next year please contact John Scott at the club, with information regularly posted on the noticeboard for the 2017 season.

Lanarkshire Men became Scottish Inter Area Champions for the first time since 1998 on September 4th.

They beat Lothians 5-4 in a nailbiting final with the outcome only decided by the final putt of stalwart Steven Rennie (Drumpellier). In the earlier rounds they beat Fife and then North East in the semi-final.

The winning players were: Craig Ross (Kirkhill), Ed Wood (Crow Wood), Steven Rennie (Drumpellier), Gordon Yates (Colville Park), Kenny Gallacher (East Kilbride), and Dominic Dougan of Airdrie.
